Photocopies, tadpoles and tickets [After Giorgione] / Cellulare

Nigel Shafran uses the tools of photography and video to analyze everyday situations of the contemporary. The personal dimension of the self and the other is investigated through a series of objects of common use that testify to the ability to establish relationships with the world, to overcome the domestic dimension. In Castelfranco Veneto, the fragments collected during the experiences lived in the artist residency are combined with the refined image or reproduced in photocopy of Giorgione’s paintings. In the form of installation they intervene in the construction of a new domesticity. Even the mobile phone, an essential tool for communication, becomes the device through which people express their fragility.
