GUIDO GUIDI. SUL CAMPO

Guido Guidi. Sul Campo originates from a body of archival materials and adopts the practice of classification as the organising principle of the editorial project. The volume is conceived as a container box bringing together three complementary elements: a book devoted to the images, a booklet of texts, and a catalogue of the one hundred photographs taken by Guido Guidi between the 1980s and 1990s, recently acquired by the Biblioteca Malatestiana in Cesena. Produced from 6×6 colour negatives, the images document the urban and territorial transformations of Romagna through the reading of its margins, infrastructures, and rural architecture, as observed by the renowned photographer from Cesena. The editorial device does not simply present a photographic selection, but conveys the layered nature of the archive, bringing together the visual sequence, the critical apparatus, and the documentary organisation. The box thus becomes both the form and metaphor of the project: a space for the preservation, consultation, and reactivation of the images, capable of transforming the acquired heritage into a tool for knowledge.
