OMNEFEST 2021

The second edition of OMNEFEST, an international festival dedicated to photography and landscape discovery, took place in Castelfranco Veneto, from September 4 to November 1, 2021, at Villa Parco Bolasco of the University of Padua and Spazio HEA. The absolute protagonist of the festival was the observed landscape, through the terms of beauty and nature, within previously unpublished photographic productions. If the concept of beauty was compared with five photographers in residence and three invited photographers, who presented and exhibited as part of the festival individual projects on the theme of BEAUTY, at the theme of NATURE, launched at the event, the American photographers Mark Steinmetz and Irina Rozovsky responded by exhibiting works from their personal archives. During the festival period Steinmetz and Rozovsky were also invited to conduct a workshop and a photographic campaign on the theme of “nature”. On the occasion of OMNEFEST the third artist’s residence dedicated to the theme NATURE was also launched. The program of events was also enriched by further exhibitions, the result of a work on the landscape made by two recognized masters of photography: Guido Guidi and Gerry Johansson. Their involvement in the photographic campaign Verso Nord (2019) led the two authors to explore the Venetian territory and to follow, as teachers, 34 young photographers also invited to participate in the installation “Esplorazioni Verso Nord” dedicated to the interpretation of the contradictions of the contemporary landscape of Northeast Italy.
