Roundabout / Capannone / Le torri di CastelfrancoJOSEF SCHULZSchulz’s work brings together three projects developed from a reflection on the character of the Venetian landscape and, in particular, of the area that includes the city of Castelfranco Veneto as an example of the infrastructural organization of a territory mainly devoted to productive activities. The work includes photographs and videos. “The starting point of my work in Castelfranco Veneto was the factories, the factory buildings, the hangars, the “Capannone”, unadorned, built for a specific purpose, but often visually intensified with paint. In my work, they are reduced to the basic idea, to form and colour. Studying the urban space led me to the points that connect and supply the production sites, the anonymous towers of the power grid, “Le Torri di Castelfranco”, which expand invisibly across the area and span a supply network.
